Hi everyone,
I have the option to ask for new graphic software to assist with documentation, and was wondering what everyone is using...a million years ago I used Corel Photo and Draw, and loved it...and for the last few years Ive been working with Paint.. What are you using to improve the graphics in your documents?
Which graphic software are you using?

It depends on what you are doing...
Snagit is popular, but I don't like the previous version (which you need if you are using Windows 10), it's file management is a bit clunky. Snagit has a good torn edge effect and page curl.
Madcap's Capture is good, and it integrates nicely with Flare, but the torn edge feature is terrible. You can create nice zoom effects on top of an image though.

As said, it depends on what you want to do. If it's just taking screenshots (which is what I do, mainly) and adding callouts or number stamps, it's SnagIt all the way for me. It doesn't need to do much, but it does what I need quickly and reliably.
Started as a newbie with Flare 6.1, now using Flare 2023.

I used to use SnagIT but have been trialling a tool called Greenshot - main reason is because it is free.
So far I am very happy with it - and yes, it can do torn edges.
Here is a sample:

Skitch/Mac - screen caps, basic annotation and highlighting
Gimp/Mac - heavy-duty editing
Paint/Windows - pixel-level editing
Capture/Windows - for more complex callouts
The first 3 are free, the latter comes with Flare

SnagIt is all I've been using for 5 years in my current role. It works for about 95% of our screenshot needs so we've had no reason to switch to something else or purchase something different, such as Madcap's image editing tool.
