Topics do not stay docked

Hi,

It seems if I have multiple items open, and one is from the projector organizer, when I click different tabs in the center pane to switch between items, they undock every time. I'll dock them again, then if I switch away from them and back to them they pop out undocked again. It's very annoying.

How can I get items to just stay docked. Always.
Note: If I am simply looking at multiple Topics, they do not ever undock.

Thanks

So, no one has had this issue?

Sorry - never had the issue. But if I did, I'd try resetting the Window layout as this usually fixes any odd display glitches.
Look at Window ribbon > Reset Layout

In addition to Margret's post: check if the option 'Auto-save Layout' is turned off. If it's on and you change your layout by docking/floating stuff this could be saved automatically and will be used until you switch layout.

I appreciate the responses guys. I wish it had helped though.

This only happens when I have a target open. If I switch back to a topic in the active pane, it automatically undocks and floats...

It must be a setting in Madcap somewhere that assumes if you are working with a target you want to float the topic? Oh well
And it doesn't happen in my peers systems (all settings equal that I know of)

MadCap technical support gave me the solution, apparently you cannot enable smart move or the "snap to" function on your mouse. Disabling this function fixed the undocking issue.
I liked that function, oh well.

Here is their email:

"Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting MadCap Technical Support.

While I was unable to replicate the behavior here during testing, we have had some users report the issue. To resolve the behavior turning off the mouse setting "Enable smart move" seemed to fix the problem.

Please let me know if this resolves the behavior. Please reply to this email if there are any other questions regarding this specific issue.

Sincerely,
Eric Shipman
MadCap Software Technical Support"
