Here's another 2017 r2 issue you can add to the list ... Broken related topics links in Flare 2017 r2.
All of my related topics links that contain bookmarks are giving me a "missing related topic link" error when I generate my output. It looks like extra folders getting inserted into the generated path. I logged a bug (#113054) for it earlier today.

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
Today, I got an update note in Flare 2017r2:
Current release now is 6355. I wonder whether the reported issues are solved with this.

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
Reminder - if you do install the update, you might also need to re-register itcc.bat so your search works.
1. Run the command prompt as administrator (Windows Start bar search for Cmd > Shift+Right click > Run as admin)
2. In the command prompt type the following:
cd "C:\Program Files\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare 13\Flare.app\Resources\bin"
3. Hit [enter]
4. Then type:
registeritcc.bat
Does anyone know where to find any release notes for this update to see what's been fixed?

Looks like they've fixed some of the most recently reported nasties. (Shame they let it out the door with those nasties in it in the first place though.)sarrants wrote:FWIW, the release notes are at http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/Content/Fl ... se%20notesSKamprowski wrote:Today, I got an update note in Flare 2017r2:

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
Hi Paul, (and all),
I am in a position to potentially upgrade to Flare 2017r2 now that some projects have been completed.
What are the latest thoughts on this release?
e.g. would this still stand: I've told all my clients to NOT upgrade to 2017 R2. I strongly recommend you don't either.
There was a fair bit of noise about the quality of the release a few weeks ago, as per this post and others... But seems to have died off over the last month.
Thanks,

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
Personally, I'm not having any particular problems (touch wood) since the first patch came out. I'm on 13.2.6355.27565 from 26 May.
Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
The current update (from 26 May) seems to have fixed the menu/TOC bugs.Landy wrote:What are the latest thoughts on this release?
I'd suggest installing the latest 2017r2 and testing it with copies of your projects.
Re: 2017r2 - update or not?
Thanks for the quick responses.
Dave we will be proceeding as per you advice.
