Extremely high memory usage and errors

Has anyone seen this particular issue? It's brought my work to a standstill at a critical time, and I need to resolve this to move forward.

Just recently I've started to get error messages saying that Flare is out of memory. When I open any file in Flare, the memory use jumps into the range of gigabytes, which is really bizarre for a single application (I've attached a screen shot of my Task Manager shortly after trying to open a file).

I know it isn't related to a particular project, because this happens even with the sample project that came with Flare. I had a co-worker open our main project, but her computer's memory use remained under 1GB, though still unusually large for a single app.

Details about my installation:

* Windows 10
* 8GB RAM
* Flare 2017 r2 (updated May 26 2017)
* Source control (SVN) is enabled.
* Bind Detection is off.
* Enable background status checks is off.
* Analyzer has all advanced settings off and Search Limits set to 100.
* Auto-suggestion is off.
* Projects are on the local drive.

Things I've tried:
* Rebooting.
* Turning off Flare features that might contribute to memory use (see above).
* Creating a new project.
* Wiping out the MadCap folders in AppData.
* Running the Flare installer in "fix" mode.

I haven't uninstalled/reinstalled yet, which is my next step.

Does anyone know what would cause this excessive memory use? I know the best solution is to stop using Flare. I hope it doesn't come to that.
