table troubles

I'm making a somewhat complex table to avoid the spreadsheet we're currently using (not that complex, but Flare and tables can be tricky).

On a cell where I merged two rows into one, the text I put in there was bleeding into the following row. Unmerge the cells and I can see it, but merge them again and same thing.

Am I trying to do too much with Flare and tables? Very disappointing if so but any tips appreciated, thanks.

it looks like Flare's not tracking the rowspans correctly - and unfortunately this is one of the few html things I don't want to do by hand (tables).

again, any tips appreciated, or if others have had this experience. I know Flare's tables are not great, but not being able to track the merged cells correctly is pretty problematic.

update - in preview it looks fine. still unworkable in the editor. still any tips appreciated!!
