I'm presuming that this isn't possible, but just so I have a definite answer:
If my output is Word, can I publish an _editable_ Visio diagram in my output? Or does it have to be a static picture format (JPG or PNG).

Word can do that with an Embed field, but to get Flare to do that would depend on how you have set up the link from the HTML in the first place.
I have not tried this from Flare before - how have you set up the link to the diagram to start with?

Any current output uses PNGs exported from Visio. When I try to insert a VSD file using the Image button, I get an "unsupported type" message. I assume there is no other way to insert the file.
