Change appearance of comments in XML editor

Currently comments (that is, content in the text editor surrounded by <!-- and --> characters) is shown in the XML editor in a grey-bordered box and truncated.

Is there any way to change this appearance, especially the truncation?

On the local toolbar, on the "Show Tags" button (second from the right), click the arrow to display the menu. Click the last item, "Marker width". In the "Set Marker Width" dialog box adjust the value to something more appropriate. Tada!
