Build failed: The filename, directory name, or volume label

I'm getting a "Build failed: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" error when I try to build a DITA target. A Google search on this message returns no useful or relevant results. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Note that I have not built a DITA target since I updated to r2.
