Third-party search engines - follow up

Has anyone successfully implemented a third-party search engine?

On this thread from 2017, people stated that they were investigating options, but no one said they'd successfully implemented a product: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29747

My team can't use Flare's Elasticsearch integration because we use an Apache web server, not IIS (for an unrelated technical reason). We don't want to use Google because of the ads.

Has anyone had any luck with other options?

Specifically, have you found a way to make the search box integrate nicely with Flare's skin?
