Snippet variable - is no value allowed?

Post by soakden »

I want to have two definitions for a variable in a snippet. One of the definitions is a full sentence, the other I want to have as 'no value' so that nothing displays. Although I can add a no value definition, I cannot select it. I don't think that what I am trying to achieve is possible. Can anyone confirm this that is indeed correct behavior? Any ideas of how to achieve this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't think so, but what you can do is create a snippet of the text/sentence that you want to use and apply a Snippet Condition, such as "Hide Content" for example. Save the snippet and then insert that into your topics (or other snippets). Then, exclude that at the snippet/topic/target level as you would the variable. Flare will show or hide the content with that condition, on a snippet-by-snippet basis in the same way it sets snippet variable contents.

I hope that helps,
