Slow file deletion

I use Git to do source control on my Flare files (> 1500 htm file)

When I delete a file from Flare using the Content Explorer it takes over a minute to delete the file.
Also when I switched Git branch outside of Flare hangs.

I investigated this with Madcap support and they have opened a bug #153037.
To work around this I dissociate the project from Git, Project>Project Properties>Souce Control>Unbind Project

Now when Flare starts it asks me to bind to Git, and I need to say no every time - but at least deletes are fast.

If anyone else has met this problem or other performance problems with Flare on top of Git, please report it to Madcap quoting bug #153037
