SF Connect not uploading files after addition of req'd field

For several months my documentation group has been using SF Connect to upload our Flare projects to a Salesforce system. Recently a separate internal team added a new required field called Pillar__c to Salesforce articles. Now when I try to upload my project, I get an error message: "Publish failed: Required fields are missing [Pillar__c}". Is there some way for us to add this field in the Destination Editor of our Flare projects?

I'd suggest you contact Madcap Support about this. I've been on to them about other issues with the SF Connect plugin, and I've found them super helpful. They probably won't be able to change the Destination Editor straight away, that would require a patch, but they are willing to listen to requirements and submit feature requests on our behalf. In the short term I'd contact your Salesforce Administrator to see if the Pillar_C field could be made optional for Knowledge articles.
