mini-TOC styles

Post by cayennep »

I've changed the stylesheet, used formatting to look at the mini-TOC, and still it is BOLD and black in the topic.

I have a minTOC1, and just tried creating a miniTOC4. In the formatting window as well, nothing appears bold or black - all blue, underlined, and 'lighter'

I know I have run across this before but cannot remember nor find what the heck the problem is. Help appreciated!

Look at p.MiniTOC1, p.MiniTOC2 and so on - that's where you define what your minitoc items look like.

you sure about this?? I don't have those styles, but the help says it's here:
MadCap | miniTocProxy > MiniTOC1

I created both 1 and 4, since the headers are actually h4

Looking at the thing in the formatting window, there is absolutely nothing that shows any bold black text

may try support, thanks but rather have them answer than keep spending time guessing how features are meant to work (as this should really be documented better, as should many things)

MiniTOCproxy contains formatting for the whole TOC item (a bit like ul or ol for a list) and p.miniTOC1 etc contains formatting for the individual lines in the TOC (like li items in a list).

If you look in the stylesheet in Advanced and in the list select Generated Content Styles, you can find the p.miniTOC items in there.

I agree, the docs could do with a bit of improvement, but the info I've given should get you in more or less the right direction. You might find Tech Support response is a bit slower than normal at the moment, so take a look, have a play and see what you can find.

Thanks so much you two! I might have figured it out over time but what a helpful thing this forum can be! My exact snag of the moment.
