the new code snippet feature is a nice one, but i do not like that clicking Copy resets my rather long topic (page) to its top. Is there a way to fix that behavior ?

I'm not seeing that behavior in Chrome, Firefox, IE, or Edge. I'm building HTML5 side nav output, and clicking the Copy button in my code samples doesn't cause the scroll back to the top. Not sure how to suggest you sort out why you are seeing the scroll.

I believe this is called an HTML5 tripane project in which i have this problem.
I tried HTML5 with top navigation and no problem there.

Hmmm, I'd probably contact MC then, as this might be considered a bug. I don't see any kind of note in the Flare 2020 Help to suggest that it shouldn't work in tripane output.

This was confirmed as a bug. Bug number is #161272.
