Closing a topic with collapsed tags causes data loss
Closing a topic with collapsed tags causes data loss
This is a cautionary tale. I recently upgraded to Flare 2020. I was working in sections at the beginning and the end of a very long topic. To save some scrolling, I used the new option to collapse the heading tags in the middle. Unfortunately, I didn't expand them before I closed Flare. When I opened the topic today, I discovered that the contents of all the collapsed headings has been deleted! I looked in the text editor, hoping that it was somehow just hidden, but no joy. The only thing left is the headings themselves. Fortunately, we use source control and I can recover the missing text from my last check-in. This is a pretty terrible bug, though!
Re: Closing a topic with collapsed tags causes data loss
OK, I can't reproduce this, so I'm not sure what caused it. I lost data from nine subsections. I know that the text was there and had been saved, because I could diff the previous day's checkin in source control and see what was removed. I'm not sure what caused it. If anyone else can offer more information, please do.
