Variables - Original Date (Flare 2021)

Hi all,

I'm just getting back into Flare after a few years. I've been playing with tutorials and looking at existing docs trying to get back up to speed. I last used Flare in 2012. One of the things I am trying to do is setup a Variable for an Original Date as a client puts the date the file was originally written in the footer of their documents. How do I do this in Flare and have the original date stay the same? Can I do this with a variable?

I set up a variable with the following settings, but the date changes every day:
Name: OrigDate
Definition: "Original Date: "MM/dd/yyyy
Update: On File Creation
