Can I rename header styles?

Post by Jesse »

Hi all,
New to using MadCap Flare, trying to set up a style sheet, I want to rename H3, but the "rename" button is grayed out, I guess some styles can't be renamed?
Thanks!

Heading classes h1, h2, h3, etc. are standard in CSS and cannot be changed or removed. However, you can add a class such as h3.custom (where “custom” is whatever you want). That class will inherit its styling from the base h3 class, which you can then change however you wish as well as add additional styling. Using h1 as an example, I routinely have h1.Chapter and h1.Appendix classes in which I define auto-numbering for the first-level heading in the first topics in chapters and appendixes, respectively. All other topics’ first-level headings are assigned the base h1 class.
