Untracked change mystery property

What is the <MadCap:change MadCap:changes="untracked"> property, and how is it mysteriously appearing in our documentation?

We can't find the root of this problem, and we were wondering if anyone else had encountered it. We thought it might be related to Find and Replace, but that doesn't seem to introduce "untracked". Perhaps GIT-related? We will contact MadCap support, but I'm posting here anyway, hoping it might help someone.

EXAMPLE:
<p>The topic <a href="../../Published/ResetDevice.html" MadCap:changes="1">Reset <MadCap:change MadCap:changes="untracked">Device</MadCap:change> settings</a> describes the specifics of the <span MadCap:changes="4" class="uiElement">Reset Device</span> option.</p>

We have discovered where this propery arises.

If you accept a tracked change that one writer has made inside another writer's tracked change, it creates the "untracked" property mentioned previously.
