Unable to Edit Image or Objects/Text on Image

I don't know if this is standard Capture behaviour but I cannot figure out why some images I can edit and others I cannot. I'm using Capture 5.
The image in question has a props file. Basically, it's a background rectangle onto which I put some text (a title, a date, a copyright symbol - that kind of thing) and it serves as the splash graphic when the user opens help.
The rectangle also has a customer logo on it. But I can neither move the logo or modify the text that I placed on the rectangle. It appears as though everything has merged into one layer.
I have images with callouts that I can easily edit but for some reason I cannot edit these particular graphics. Can someone shed some light on Capture's behaviour, please?
