Cannot edit image with Capture from flare

Two issues, maybe unrelated:

1. I get an error when I try to use Capture from within the Flare interface to edit an image. The image was captured with Capture and its props file is snugly ensconced alongside it in the Content folder.

The error says "Failed to "Open File": only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed."

2. I can't Capture an application from the Capture interface. I can capture a region, or a UI element, or the active window (using Ctrl+Shift+A, of course), but when I try to capture an application, it tries to collect the list of apps open and then gives me a raspberry.

I tried reinstalling Capture (repairing, actually), since I once heard that it helps to have installed Capture "later" than Flare, and I recently upgraded to Flare 4, so I thought that might help, but it didn't.

Any ideas?
