I frequently am stopped cold by the following error, which is not predictable by any sequence of events I've noticed. Is this a known issue? Is it advisable to remove the application and reinstall?
The message reads
"MadCap Capture V4
MadCap Capture V4 has trouble accessing the network [A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host] - this access is needed when checking for license key usage.
Perhaps your firewall is blocking it from using the network.
If so, please enable the network and click OK.
Click Cancel to exit the application."

Re: Frequent Error and Application Crash
The Madcap suite of products (sounds like marketer speech) "phone home' to check that another copy with the same licence is being used.
If you are not connected to the 'Net, or your firewall is blocking a Madcap program, you will ghet an error message like the one you are seeing. Reinstalling won't make any difference, unless it gives you the opportunity to allow the program 'Net access through your firewall.

If you are working behind a firewall, I believe that MadCap Support can help you make Flare work without requiring network access through a specific port. You'd need to contact support directly, however, for that information.

All of Madcap Products want to call home to register.madcapsoftware.com Port 80 You may want to open your firewall to allow access to that

Thanks, Rick. I'll see whether that will be an available option in my environment.
