Props file

Post by Muttley »

Hi
Can anybody explain why Capture v4 is creating a file with the extension .props everytime I save a file. I'm assuming it is some kind of properties file, but as these files seem to be about 3 times the size of the actual working file I'm going to need a bigger hard drive soon. Have I missed something when setting Capture up?

Thanks

You don't need the props file if you are never going to edit the image with Capture, Or do any linking of Variables, then you don't need the file. If you remove the Props file and then open the image again, you won't be able to remove any call outs or any other Capture features.

The .props file also allows you to set how the file interacts with Flare. So you can set different output sizes/resolutions/file extensions for print outputs versus online outputs.
