Dual Screem & Capture
Dual Screem & Capture
I run dual screens on my machine and the Capture tool only shows the zoomed window properly when I am on the primary screen. The secondary screen causes the zoom window to simply appear black. How do I resolve this?

Re: Dual Screem & Capture
I resolve it myself by dragging the contents to my primary screen. I use madcap capture all the time and love it. I don't know if it can work on the secondary screen ever.
I would like to know if someone does find a way.

Re: Dual Screem & Capture
That is the same thing I have to do (drag the content to the primary monitor). It is a bit annoying. What is the point of dual screens when all of the work has to be completed on one screen.
When I used Snagit I did not have this issue.
Thanks for any assistance figuring this one out.

You can capture on the second screen. You just can't see the magnification. At least that's how it works for me. It is a pain. You should submit a feature request for an enhancement here.

I have yet to see any result from capturing on the second screen. Capture just stays blank.

Where would I submit a feature request? Sorry, pretty new to Mad Cap

Thanks, I submitted a request.
Re: Dual Screem & Capture
It works ok on my dual screen setup (using Capture v3, Win XP). When I move the mouse on the secondary screen, the magnified zoom window is displayed on my primary window in the top right, and there's no problem with it.
Maybe the issue is specific to particular graphics card/drivers?

I use windows vista, perhaps that is an issue.

Alright - with the help of the MadCap team I was able to come up with a sort of work around. Basically, if I switch which monitor is the primary I can then capture from both monitors. I will not be implementing this as I prefer the laptop to remain the primary for consistency when switching from one location to another.

Re: Dual Screen & Capture
Just to add the results of my own adventures with capture on dual screen:
I also run a dual screen set-up, with the laptop as the primary and a separate monitor as the secondary.
I'm running XP Pro (SP2) and Capture V4.0.0
When having Capture open in the Primary screen and capturing from the secondary screen, the magnifier box is still visible in the primary screen and functions correctly.
As stated by both Dave and alaltenburg, it could be video card, or operating system. Sorry I can't be more help.
