Will MadCap ever update Mimic 8?

My last update was in 2015 (that was my last Capture update, too). I've clicked the Check for Updates link and am told no updates are available. Why is that? I get a new Flare every year (plus at least one update). Is Mimic and/or Capture not worth the skull sweat to give one or both improved features?

Whilst some MadCap staff visit here, you'd need to ask MadCap directly if you want an answer.

Perhaps Mimic didn't sell very well and so development has stalled. Certainly it has stiff competition in this area from various alternative apps, although these won't have Flare integration (conditions, etc.).

For Capture, I seem to remember Capture and the standalone Analyzer were separate paid-for apps, but were later bundled in with the Flare licence. Since they've been 'free', neither have been developed much further.

I can recommend TechSmith's Snagit for screenshots and Camtasia for videos. They're also very active in their training and webinars (which is something I love from MadCap too).

In case some MadCap manager ever come across this thread, I want to up the pressure to update Capture and Mimic.
