Hi,
I'm currently evaluating Mimic and am running into a technical problem: whenever I click on Record, the Recording Area and Task bar do not appear.
I've tried starting the recording by clicking the Record button in the Movie ribbon, clicking Record a Movie in the Getting Started pane, and also through File > New > Record Movie.
Interestingly, when choosing File > New > Movie from Screenshot, the Recording Area and Task bar do appear.
System details:
Mac OS 10.8.2
Parallels 8.0
Windows 7 Pro
Java SE Runtime Environment 7 Update 15
Mimic 7
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Maarten

Re: Mimic evaluation: Recording Area and Task bar do not appear
Hi Maarten,
I've experienced this when I'm running multiple monitors and have changed the resolution away from native.
Are you running a different resolution than standard? Given you are using an emulator on a Mac you might be getting an inconsistency...

Re: Mimic evaluation: Recording Area and Task bar do not appear
Hi Steve,
Many thanks for your reply and suggestion.
I am indeed working with an additional monitor, connected to a MacBook Pro (with retina screen).
I have now changed the Windows screen resolution back to the recommended setting of 1024x768 but this doesn't resolve the problem I'm afraid.
Is there anything else I could check?
Regards,
Maarten

P.S. I'm also evaluating Capture which seems to make use of the same controls and those are all working fine (but maybe those are the same controls as the controls for Movie from Screenshot in Mimic which is also working for me...).

Re: Mimic evaluation: Recording Area and Task bar do not appear
...you could try running mimic and the program you are trying to capture on the primary monitor...
Failing that, I'd contact support to see if they have any suggestions.

...joys of being on the other side of the world, using a computer when everyone else is sleeping, eating, or otherwise having fun!
