I'm just curious, and a little annoyed, as to why the UI has indeterminate (or three-way) check boxes?

One of the reasons may be if you have selected multiple items. Then the indeterminate symbol means that some of your selected items have got that option set, and some haven't. But if you change it for all selected items you will only be able to change it to all set or all cleared.

Re: Indeterminate Check Boxes - Why?
The image in my original post is from a Cursor object. So if I had more than one objects in this frame, the setting I have here indicates that the audio for some of objects in the frame are enabled, but not all?
I'm particularly interested in the audio because I want to mute the mouse-click for all frames. I had hoped the Movie Properties would cascade to each frame, but it doesn't (which I think is a bug, so I reported it). I ended up going through all 50 frames and clearing the setting for each Cursor object.
