I am having trouble building Flash output. Get an error "Failed to generate .swf". I've tried closing, reopening, rebooting, etc. I've built the Flash output several times in the course of the project and it went fine. But of course, when you're all finished and on deadline, that's when it decides to balk.

I'm sorry that this isn't an answer! I have the same issue when I have a lot of frames in my movie.

My current movie has 400 frames. It won't build, in either Flash, Air, or HTML5. I don't know if this is a memory issue due to Mimic being a 32-bit app, but I wish they would get this fixed. It's not my workstation, as it has 16GB RAM and 8 cores of 3.7GHz Xeons.

I have received this error as well. Through the MadCap support, we discovered that a version of Java that was installed on my computer caused the problem.
We un-installed the 32-bit Java. That version was 7.55.
Then we installed 7.75. The Mimic video was able to build after that.
