How to Analyzer on "Critical"

Post by ccardimon »

I ran Analyzer on my latest project. I thought I did a good job getting this project together, but Analyzer stil found a billion things wrong with it.

Can I set Analyzer to find only Critical items? And how do I tell it I already fixed some things?

I know this sounds odd, but it is yelling at me over outside links. I checked these and they're all good, but Analyzer is still flagging them. Can I get Analyzer to not flag them, especially after I check them again from within Analyzer?

what does this look like?
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

I don't mean to sound flippant, but if you run Analyzer on a project of yours, you might see what you want.

I might be able to get a screen capture. Is that what you need?

Not to sound flippant, but just because Analyzer is pointing things out doesn't mean you have to pay attention to them. <grin>

With things like outside links, after I've verified that they're correct, as long as the number doesn't change, I don't pay them any mind. Same thing with things like the "writing suggestions;" I skim through the list every once in a while, but I mostly ignore those.

I love the "writing suggestions." I have an MA in English, so if Analyzer is giving me suggestions, I want to know what they are. Fortunately, it hasn't so far.

Sorry about the "flippant" bit. No matter how I said what I said, I thought it didn't sound the way I wanted it to after I typed it.

I like Analyzer, but it does throw everythingm, including the kitchin sink, at you, doesn't it?

Yeah. I think that the ability to have it ignore certain types of things, or at least have the summary not display them would be good.

Feature request time, I guess.

Would you like to have that honor, or shall I do it?

If we both do it, it'll either give it more weight, or they'll think we're stuffing the ballot box.

Go ahead.

How about if it offered typo suggestions? :o)

Actually, saying that, listing spelling errors would be useful.

Isn't that what spellcheck is for?

Yep, I just meant Analyzer could detect them as part of its scan and list them for you. After all, it's listing all sorts of other problems in your project, so why not spelling errors.
If you could see a list of all the mis-spelt words in your project, it would help you see what are actually mistakes and what new words might need to be added to your dictionary.
