Can Flare run on a Mac?

I am contracting for a very Mac-centric company, and am recommending MadCap Flare for them. The questions are:

• Can Flare run on a Mac in native mode?
• Can Flare run on a Mac in Windows emulation mode?
• Can Flare integrate with the Subversion version control system?

I can't answer your question, but I suggest you also ask the MadCap Sales team. I have found them very helpful, and if it might result in a sale I'm sure they will do their utmost to help you.

1. No.
2. Yes. I and many others run it on Windows on VMWare without problem. Others do the same on Parallels, although I've heard from some that Parallels doesn't play so well with .NET.
3. Yes. You'll need TortoiseSVN in order to do those things that Flare is not programmed to do, such as create branches and tags and even set up an initial folder structure (trunk, tags, branches) in the repository.

I am now running Flare successfully on a Mac under VMware Fusion. Basically, it's a non-issue.
