Machine translation in Lingo

Post by pogz5962 »

Does anyone know whether/how you can use, eg, the Google Translate api (or Reverso or others) with Lingo 8? I'm trying out the new version of Lingo, which I like a lot, but I can't find any info on connecting to online MTs. I have seen that it was possible in earlier versions, but can't find anything about integrating Google or other MTs in the newer versions of Lingo. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Can't answer your question, but I would seriously hope you're not considering actually publishing the output from machine translations. I once saw a restaurant menu that translated a rather nice goat's cheese dish with garlic as "goat droppings let's anoint". Needless to say, after much giggling and guffawing, we chose something else to eat...
