empty segment

Can I leave empty segment in the Translation Editor in order not to fulfill the TM with useless information?

I hope so, I do it all the time. I think of the TM as Snippets for translations, i.e., reusing what's already been translated. It seems pointless to me to make a Snippet that I'm not going to use again. That's my understanding of the TM anyway.
