Pressing spacebar inserts too many spaces

When I use Lingo to edit a translation, pressing the spacebar inserts TWO spaces about 60% of the time. Then I have to go back and remove these spaces. Very annoying.

Lingo is the ONLY application on my PC where this happens, so I can't imagine this could be a problem with my computer or keyboard settings. (Also I haven't changed anything recently.)

Any advice on how I can prevent this from happening?

I can't be of much help, but I can at least confirm that I am a new Lingo user and I am having the same problem. Very strange! I also haven't come across this issue anywhere else...
