Thanks, do you know if this is just for Simplified Chinese or any double byte bracket followed by a double byte space? Would this also affect other double byte languages like Japanese and Russian?This was confirmed by MadCap support as an issue for Simplified Chinese.

I dont know for sure. Based on my experience I would say it something to keep in mind for Japanese, but only a test can tell for sure. As for Russian, I dont see an issue because Russian is not a double-byte language.
However, as stated before, it should be tested and I do not know for sure.
