Does Lingo Work With MySQL?

Post by jimgilliam »

I have a database set up on a MySQL server, but Lingo doesn't want to connect. Can you use a MySQL database with Lingo?

Also, if MySQL is not an option with Lingo, what if we stored the Translation Memory database on a shared network drive? Can two or more authors read/write to the TM if it's stored on a network drive, or will that cause problems because each person would have it open at the same time?

Lingo only works with SQLite or SQL Server Express from MS.

If you want to place the databases on a shared network drive keep in mind the following:

Your Translation Memory database must be created in the same drive name as your SQL Server Express installation location. For example if you install SQL Server Express in C, the Lingo TM database must be installed in C also. As for access by multiple persons, that would be a question for support because that will depend on the license you have.
