Hey folks,
we need to change all of the existing file names of the topics in our Flare project (new requirement from the dev team). For testing purposes I changed the file name of one topic, which basically deleted the file in Lingo and created a new (blank) one. Of course there's the TMS which helps in adding the translations again, but maybe there is a better way.
So the questions is: Is there a way to change the file names in Flare without having to translate the topics again?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,

Actually, there is no better way, because what you described is the way Lingo is supposed to work. Before you go to far in, I would however have a discussion with DEV, because if this happens again you are right back where you started from. Here is a simple way of dealing with this.
HTH
- 1. Create a backup of the latest source and the translated project. Create a list of the filenames (Old - New) so you know what corresponds to what.
2. Rename the files in the project as needed.
3. Compile the project as a sanity check.
4. Create a Lingo project with the newly created Flare project.
5. Pre-Translate with the TM. Of course, you will not get everything translated.
6. If there are not too many, make a list of the files that were not completed in Lingo.
7. Find the equivalent files from the list created in step 1 and align them.
8. After aligning, open the Lingo project and translate the remainder. You should now have everything.
