Losing translations when moving files in Flare

Post by 98plustwo »

Hey folks -

I have a question:

Is there a way to change the folder structure, move files or rename files (all in Flare) without losing the respective translations done in Lingo?

We are currently setting up CHM and HTML5 documentation, and since the URL of the online output is determined by the on-disc structure in Flare we are wondering if it is at all possible to later change the URL. If not we would now have to determine the folder structure once and for all (unless I am mistaken).

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

If you have the translations in a translation memory, you will not loose them. If you rename files (example file A becomes file B) and update the project it will basically tell you that file A was deleted and file B was newly added. Since the translations are in the translation memory that should be no problem.

Hi Uwe,

yes, the TMS will work. I just hoped there is another way of keeping the completed translations.

Thanks for your reply!
