Machine translation different to suggestion

Post by minicyclist »

Hi,

Due to poor feedback on our Japanese translation, I'm trying to compare a Lingo doc, with a good translation of the same document to see what's going wrong in Lingo. Both are using Google to machine translate.

So I translated a sentence using Google on the web and got a different result to the sentence that was added by Lingo. However, when I click on the sentence in Lingo, the suggestion is the same as the Google web translate. Anyone know why this might happen?

Screenshot below. For some reason you have to be logged in to see it.

Depending on your setting it might has updated the translation memory. If you open Lingo and Go under Options, and then to the translation memory there is a checkmark for updating translations. If this one is checked the translation memory will be updated with the "new" translation and going along this is the translation that will be used.
