Custom formats at import

I have configured a template including customizations to Styles.css. When I build a new project using the template then import word files, my custom styles don't show up for mapping to word styles. Instead, the stock Flare styles with the default formatting appear. When the word files are actually imported, they are correctly formatted using my customized CSS.

So why don't my changes to Styles.css show up while I'm importing? Do I really need to manually specify the CSS IN THE TEMPLATE I'M USING to see my new classes/tags/formatting? Or am I doing something dumb?

I'm NOT preserving word styles, of course.

The same problem here.
When using an old .flimp file, the mapped custom styles appear on the left side, but aren't available in the list of Flare styles. Very odd.
Is there now help in sight from MadCap?
