Hi all,
We have a bunch of content that was written on Pagemaker, which we want to suck into Flare. Apologies if there's a post out there already on this - couldn't find it.
Is there an agreed method for converting? Would I need to get it to 'InDesign' first? Or do I just have to generate the PDFs, reformat them / convert to Word and then import (ugh).
Feel free to point me to the relevant thread/FM if it exists.
Thanks.

Re: Importing from Adobe Pagemaker
I use these steps:
1) Import your PM docs into InDesign
2) Export/save the InDesign as a PDF
3) Save the PDF as a Word file (you need Acrobat - not Acrobat Reader)
4) Clean up the Word file to the best of your ability (e.g. apply styles where there are none, Word can do that)
5) Import into Flare
6) Tweak - there will be some. There is no need to use too much time in Word.
An alternative which requires the knowledge and possession of FrameMaker
After 4) this is how it goes
5) Import into Framemaker
6) Clean up the rest in FrameMaker (do NOT use too much time in Word at all!)
7) Import the FM files into Flare
Tweak - there far less than in the method only involving Word. Like a lot far less!!!!
Requisite for both I think is to have a CSS file already designed in Flare.
