What's the best practice for importing a Framemaker document when you don't actually have Framemaker anymore?
We made the switch from Frame to Flare years ago, and thus no longer have Frame. All of our docs were imported to Flare, but we've recently inherited some older docs that are still in Frame. I figured I could create a Frame import file and go to work, but Flare says it needs Frame for the import. Is there any other way to import to Flare, short of copying and pasting text from the PDF?
Thanks,
David

Re: Importing from Framemaker without Framemaker
Given that you have the PDF produced out of the old FrameMaker files, and provided you have a tool for doing so, can you export the PDF to a Word document? Then you can prep the Word document for eventual import into Flare. I've used this exact workflow myself when I have clients who no longer can find source files of legacy documentation (whether produced with Frame or something else) but who do have the PDFs.
