FameMaker Import Error

Post by pcartee »

This question was asked before but did not receive a real answer, in my opinion, no offense intended.

When I try to import a FrameMaker book or file into Flare v. 11, I get the following error:
FrameMakerImportError.png
I'm hoping someone out there has better fix than what was previously given:
1. Save the book as a PDF file.
2. Convert the PDF to a Word file.
3. Import the Word file into Flare.

The previous post also suggested that reinstalling Flare might help. I tried this with no success. Does anyone know how to get Flare to recognize that FrameMaker is installed?

Thanks in advance,

Your friend and mine,

Myself.

It looks like this issue occurs when the version of FM is more recent than the version of Flare. There have been patches released for this in the past: http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/Content/Fl ... atches.htm . Currently, for instance, Flare 2017 will not import Framemaker 2017 files, since Flare was released a month earlier.
