Hi
I'm a Newbie, evaluating Flare for documenting our product.
I've looked for an answer in the help but could not find an answer .....
I imported a .png files (exported from power point) and ticked the entry tells Flare to link to the original file.
Indeed in the content the file is shown as Link.
I then inserted the figure into a Topic.
Then I updated the figure (re-exported it from powerpoint with the same name) - I was expecting the image to either update automatically or to find an "update" command - but it didn't update nor did I find any way to trigger an update.
Is there such a feature ? How do I make it work ?
Thanks
Updating an Image

Re: Updating an Image
If you save the new image to the folder in your Flare project and overwrite the existing image, there is no need to have a separate "update" option, as the Flare topic just uses whatever file is in the location shown in the topic. I may have misunderstood you though, so apologies if I have.
The "link to original file" relates to the file that you imported (in this case the PowerPoint file that contains the image) and the link is activated when you re-import the source file, which then reimports the image. You can do this easily: in the Project Organizer, open the Imports file and either right-click the relevant import file and on the menu click Re-import, or open the import file and in the main work area click Re-import.
And welcome to Flare and the forums!
