Importing pictures inside tables from Word

Post by ferracaned »

Hi,
I'm trying to understand why Flare doesn't display properly images that I've imported from word that are inside a table cell.
In the PDF outputs I don't see any image while in the website output I see images but distorted.
Images are definately imported because I see the as a single picture and also are present inside the cell of the table... is there something wrong I'm missing?
This is an example of table that has this issue (all the tables have this issue):

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<html xmlns:MadCap="http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd" xml:lang="en-us">

The images have specific heights and widths defined. Are the images those exact pixel sizes if you open them in an image editor? If not, that would cause the distortion in web view.

For PDF, it's possible the visibility setting could be causing an issue - I'm never sure what css the pdf conversions understand.

To test both theories, delete the style property for a few rows or a table (if there's a small one), generate and see what difference it makes.

I've found a way to show pictures: basically if I put some text in the same cell of the tabel I can see pictures.... how is it possible??? it seems it is not possible to have a column with only images... :?: :?: :?:

Found the issue, column was in auto width and it doesn't recognizes images. Had to set fixed width for every column that has only images inside, very annoying BTW...
