Importing Word Docs - Problems with New Topics

Hi
When I import a Word doc, in the Import Editor, I define Heading 1 and Heading 2 as new topic styles but when I actually import the doc, Flare creates new styles for headings 1-5. Any ideas as to why and how to fix this?

As well as defining new topic styles, are you also mapping the Word styles to Flare ones on the Paragraph Styles tab?

Slightly old thread, but I think the name is what causes the confusion:

New topic styles are the styles which create a new topic.
Style mappings define which Word styles go into the auto-generated stylesheet.
