Word import - where does the imported file get its name?

Postby ChoccieMuffin on Wed May 20, 2020 3:02 am

I'm on Flare 2019 r1.

When importing a Word file, I want the htm file to have the same name as the original Word file, not the first few words of the first heading it finds. It used to work (Document.docx turns into Document.htm) but for some reason imports are not consistently working like they used to.

In our process, SMEs edit a series of Word files that we import into Flare using import files that lives in the project. We haven't changed the content of the import files for ages, so I don't think my problem lies with the import files, it's more likely to be something in the Word docs.

I know I resolved this for one of my files about 18 months ago, but (silly me!) I didn't make a note of how I did it, I can only remember that it was one of those little hidden things that took lots of digging to find, and IIRC it needed some kind of change in the Word doc, to do with a hidden field called PRIVATE, but my goldfish brain has completely thrown away the solution.

Can any of you lovely people help?

Thanks!

This topic talks about adding Private field codes in Word:

Yeah, that's my second choice, but I was wondering if anyone knows when things changed? It USED to be that it took the Word filename (which is what I want), and is there any way to make it do that by default, rather than having to add that field in the Word doc?
