I'm importing a large Word document, around 200 pages, that was exported from RoboHelp.
In RH, each H1 heading was its own topic.
I would like import this Word document into Flare and make each H1 heading a separate topic in Flare.
If I can't do this automatically on import, how can I do it manually from within Flare?
Any best practices, hints, tips, and suggestions would be most appreciated.

Re: Importing H1 Word headings as separate Flare topics
You can do this automatically. You can add a file to an existing project using "Import > Add Word document..." instead of creating a whole new project.
On the "New Topic Styles" tab, select Heading 1 to be the place to break new topics.
On the "Options" tab, clear the split long topics and Avoid empty topics buttons - they will override your style selection.
If you have a style sheet already, I suggest you use the stylesheet tab to apply your existing sheet, and set "Do not preserve Word styles". This means that no new styles will be added to your stylesheet. Some of the imported paragraphs may not map exactly as you want (lists and table styles), but they end up with existing styles applied.
