AutoNumbering in Flare from Frame Import

Post by Jodie Boedigheimer »

Hello All

I'm importing a Frame document into Flare. I see that you use autonumbering rather than lists when you do this. I'm good with that. My issue is, in the document that I'm importing, there are multiple numbered lists in a single topic, each having to start at 1. When I do the autonumbering, I get a bunch of #1, as I expect because StepStart is set to n=1. But, then I get a continuous list with the StepNext, which is set to n+1.

For example:

Creating a Thingamajig
1. Do this.
2. Then do this.
3. Then do this.

Modifying a Thingamajig
1. Do this.
4. Then do this.
5. Then do this.

Deleting a Thingamajig
1. Do this.
6. Then do this.
7. Then do this.

Is there a way to make the subsequent lists start after the StepStart from their respective section in the topic? I couldn't figure out how to do this.

I have entertained creating separate topics for each of these tasks and I can make all of that work fine. The issue comes when I need to merge a bunch of Frame to Flare projects together using a master project. The TOC doesn't come out right.

If I could import multiple Frame projects into one Flare project, that would make this a lot easier for me.

Thanks
Jodie

I figured this out. I removed the S: from in front of the auto numbering.
