Superscript stripped out of cross-reference

I have a trademarked name that has two letters set as superscript. When the name is set in a heading (H1) and then cross referenced, the superscript or any span is stripped out of the link when building the target.

Any solution?

Styles aren't retained across xrefs, so the superscript and span tags won't work. Try using Insert Character (found on the Insert tab in the Symbols group) to add ™ as a special character.

Wish it was that easy. Its not a standard character such as the trademark symbol, TM.
