(reset class) for an entire table

So importing some content ages ago from Word I'm now left with a number of large tables in which each cell of the table has local formatting applied. Obviously this isn't ideal for long term maintainability so I'd like to clear all of that local formatting out and just use the default styles in my stylesheet. Reset local cell formatting doesn't seem to do it for me and the (reset class) option only works for a cell at a time. Is there any way to select an entire table and strip out all of the local formatting in one fell swoop? If not I'd also take any help on assigning the (reset class) style to a hot-key if possible.
