Forcing Top Nav menus to open in a particular direction

I have spoken to a couple of other Flare authors about this, and nobody could think of a way.

I am not giving up though, so I dug through the Madcap customer showcases and found a top nav that works how I want.

Note that all the child menus under Developer all open to the left, rather than the right.

I looked in the chrome dev tools and it looks like theres some custom CSS that forces this to happen. However, looking at the structure, it seems like there was some higher level customisation to allow for it.

Does anyone have some guidance on this?

It should display sub-menus on the left if there's no room to display them on the right.
I have projects here where I can see the same thing working.

Although I must admit it isn't foolproof - sometimes menu text can overflow off screen on the right side.
I haven't worked out whether the underlying Foundation menu control is at fault, or it's something MadCap are doing that breaks it.

It always runs off the screen once, then after that first time its always left. So a bit weird.

I'll carry on looking into it.
